Cronin’s Yard camping pods

These are timber built, roof and floor insulated, specially designed to be used like tent. The pod is designed to be comfortable; the roofing material is designed to cut down the noise of the rain. The window and lockable French door are double glazed to reduce condensation and provide sound insulation. The wood used in the construction is naturally warm material but to provide extra winter warmth we have installed sheep’s wool insulation inside the walls and a special foil layer under the roof which helps keep the summer temperatures in check. There is a small high level window in the back wall and this not only provides light but will keep the living area well ventilated.

The benefits of staying in our pods

  • Already set up when you arrive
  • More privacy and security than a tent
  • No putting up or taking down in the rain
  • No wind whipping or flapping keeping you awake
  • Wooden decking area for dining and chilling out
  • A guaranteed dry place to accommodate our variable Kerry weather
  • Our pods are south facing so you wake up to stunning views of the Reeks in the morning
  • Pods offer a convenient alternative to the tent but retain all the ambiance of camping
